How to add Friends? + How to Update?

  • #1 Nov 1, 2013

    Hey Guys,
I have two questions to ask you guys:
    1. I am new to MCPE and bought it like a month ago. So I have never updated, not even to 0.7.6, I am in 0.7.5. I want to update because I have heard that the 0.8.0 update is super duper! So, how do we update? Will it show in the screen 'Update Now?' like it does in PC? Do we have to give money again and update in Play Store? (I use Android and this is my first Money App)

    2. I have seen in Youtube that two players can join in the same world. Note: It was not a server, it was a survival world. So, how do we do it? Because my cousins and I want to play in the same world. Does it require the same Wifi?

You can leave the answers below.
    Thank You for your Time!

0.7.5 is the most recent version of MC:PE therefor there is no update at the moment. (it is free to update anyway).

Multiplayer requires same wifi without using a server in MC:PE. (aka LAN hosting)

If you need help with either of these please feel free to ask. :)

just to expand on what was already said, the app will auto update on your device when a new update is available, they play store will either auto install, or tell you to accept the update (depending on settings for your device), this is the same for all apps on the play store

Actualy, you can turn off auto update which will cause you to manualy go to Google Play and click "Update".
Also my rooted Kindle Fire HD with Google Play refuses to auto update even withh the AU setting on.

Oh Thanks about the Update situation! But I am still quite confused about LAN Hosting. How is it done?

    updates are free.
the only time you would need to pay again would be if say you went from an android device to an apple, or windows device, as they use different stores and software.

no idea on the lan issue, only played PE for 2 minutes

Playing on LAN is simple. Make sure both devices are on the same wifi. Then start playing a game on one device and on the others scroll to the bottom of the play page that has your worlds. A blue map will appear. Click that.

You don't have to play MC:PE a lot just to moderate a MC:PE forum :P I am a support guru which almost requires a lot of playing time because I have to know A LOT about MC:PE (which I do, which is why I'm a support guru). I like to help people. :)

Your welcome. It's kinda my *job* (without pay :P) to help people and I love doing it so, no problem.
The Support Guru group is quite large so there should always be someone who can help.

I suggested you to the other support gurus in the private section. (They're thinking about it) They might make a Pocket Support Guru for people like me who only help with Pocket Edition. :)
